Ricky Mo is a professional tattoo artist, and fine art painter based on the North Shore of Massachusetts. He received his B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing from Montserrat College of Art and studied visual arts at Niigata College of Art and Design in Niigata, Japan.

 

Prior to attending art school, Ricky Mo had an underlying passion for tattoos. The use of his creativity and ingenuity, derived from his fine arts education, improved the overall quality of his tattoo designs. His greatest interests are in American traditional and geometric style tattoos.

   When Ricky Mo is not tattooing, he is focused on creating abstract geometric paintings on canvas, wood panel and as site specific murals. These paintings are an exploration of the connections between several 20th century painting movements which include Pop Art, Minimalism, and Optical Art, which reflect his interests in perspective, illusion, and color theory.

 

Ricky Mo's paintings have been on display at galleries internationally and throughout the North Shore. His most recent paintings were on display at the Punto Urban Art Museum in Salem, MA and at the front window display of the 301 Gallery in Beverly, MA.
